New Coffee Creamer Packaging
Several years ago Catapult Strategic Design, an ad agency in Phoenix, asked me to create the packaging for a new coffee creamer product. The product finally reached store shelves this month!
Quanah, Texas
When our children were young we would load them up in the Suburban early in the morning and head off to Taos or Santa Fe to go ski. This was a yearly event for our family. Along highway 287, I would make a number of stops in different small west Texas towns and take photographs. (Thankfully, Kathy and the kids were patient with me) Over the years, I collected many images. This is a recent painting of one of those small town scenes in Quanah, Texas. -
Texas Filmmaker Chris Mano Continues Shooting Jon Flaming Documentary
My buddy Chris Mano and I drove down to a very remote part of central Texas after church on Sunday to visit an old freedmans cemetery I discovered years ago. Tucked back in the woods, this graveyard consists of the final resting places of former slaves from a nearby plantation that existed in the mid 19th century. There is also a small abandoned white clapboard church that is still standing just to the west of the cemetery. Large turkey buzzards circled overhead the entire time we were there - we soon found out why. After climbing up into the partially exposed church attic, we discovered two large blue turkey buzzard eggs resting together on the dusty wooden planks of the attic floor. They were beautiful to see. -
I am doing a large scale painting of this place and Chris is filming the entire process which will be part of the documentary that he is shooting on my work. -
Jon Flaming Creates Identity for 2012 Kansas State Fair!
Last year Sonia Greteman of The Greteman Group advertising agency in Wichita, Kansas asked me to create the "look" for the 2012 Kansas State Fair. Being born in Wichita and living in Kansas for the first 5 years of my life gave me even more reason to dive into this cool project. - Kansans can look for billboards, ads, posters, TV commercials and more to start popping up soon. Special thanks to Sheila, Taylor & Cindy at Those 3 Reps for finding such a great assignment! -
