John Wayne Family asks Jon Flaming to Create Brand & Art for 4th Annual John Wayne Film Festival
Last April I was invited by Sarah & Todd McCoy to a small, private lunch here in Dallas to discuss creating the art & branding for the 1st annual John Wayne Film Festival. - Attending the lunch were Marisa Wayne (John Wayne's daughter), Anita Swift (John Wayne's granddaughter), Barry Tubb (actor/director, responsible for creating the John Wayne Film Festival), David Hale Smith (book agent) & Steve Stodghill (Dallas lawyer/film buff). Sarah & Todd saw an article on my work in Cowboys & Indians magazine and recommended that I be involved with creating the identity for the festival. For the past several months I've been working with Ethan Wayne (John Wayne's son), Karl Post & Greg Graber with the John Wayne Cancer Foundation in California to create the specific pieces needed for the festival. - The new logo (below) was just launched. I am also creating several large-scale canvases to be auctioned off by Heritage Auctions to benefit the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. The festival takes place April 24-27.
